Who we are

AMC Recalls is an independent study resource built by doctors who have sat the Australian Medical Council (AMC) Part 1 exam. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to the Australian Medical Council or AMC Ltd in any way. All AMC trademarks and names belong to their respective owners and are used here only to describe what this resource is about.

Where our questions come from

This is the part we most want to be clear about, because the word "recalls" means different things to different people.

Our questions are not copies of AMC exam questions. We do not have access to the AMC question bank, we do not reproduce exam papers, and nothing on this site is lifted from official AMC material.

What we do is this. Candidates who have sat the exam discuss the topics that came up. From those discussions we identify the underlying teaching point, the piece of clinical knowledge the examiners appeared to be testing. We then write an entirely new question of our own that tests that same teaching point, along with our own explanation of the reasoning behind it.

The result is original work aimed at the same learning objective, not a reproduction of anything the AMC has written. We make no claim that any question on this site has appeared in a past exam, or that any topic covered will appear in a future sitting.

Our articles are opinion, not fact

The articles and study guides on this site reflect our own views, drawn from our personal experience preparing for and sitting the AMC Part 1 exam, and from conversations with other candidates.

They are opinions, not established facts, and not official guidance. What worked for us may not work for you. Two people can prepare for the same exam in completely different ways and both pass. Where we recommend a study method, a resource, or an approach, treat it as one person's view worth considering, not as instruction.

For anything official, including eligibility, exam format, scoring, dates, and rules, always refer to the AMC directly. Their guidance is authoritative. Ours is not.

No guarantee of exam results

Using this site does not guarantee that you will pass the AMC Part 1 exam or achieve any particular score. We offer it as one preparation tool among many, and we would encourage you to use it alongside official AMC materials and whatever other resources suit how you learn.

We work hard to get things right, but we are a small team writing this in our own time, and medicine changes. Some of what you read here may be incomplete, out of date, or simply wrong. We do not warrant that the content is accurate, current, or error-free, and we would rather you verify important points against a primary source than take our word for it.

If you spot a mistake, please tell us. Corrections from users make this resource better for everyone who comes after you.
