AMC 1 Fee in Pakistan 2026: Every AMC Exam Fee in PKR, and How to Pay

The AMC 1 fee in Pakistan is AUD 2,920 for each attempt at the AMC MCQ, about PKR 5.7 lakh at mid-October 2026 rates, paid by Visa or Mastercard in Australian dollars to the Australian Medical Council. A first attempt also needs the AMC portfolio (AUD 642, about PKR 1.25 lakh) and ECFMG's EPIC verification (about USD 315, or PKR 88,000), so the AMC exam costs a Pakistani candidate about PKR 7.8 lakh before card costs. Paying from Pakistan adds your bank's conversion margin and fee, plus advance tax of 0.5 percent for filers and 1 percent for non-filers.

Rates used in this guide: AUD 1 = PKR 195 and USD 1 = PKR 278, the open-market selling rates on 13 October 2026. Your bank's card rate on the day will differ slightly.

Booking your AMC exam with Pearson VUE costs nothing extra, because the booking is covered by your authorisation. Costs that don't go to the AMC, such as IELTS or OET, Ahpra registration and the Melbourne trip for the AMC Clinical, are in AMC exam fees in Indian and Pakistani rupees.

What paying from Pakistan adds

The AMC takes Australian dollars only, by Visa or Mastercard, through your AMC account. Its card surcharge ended at 9:00 am AEST on 1 October 2026, so the extra cost now comes from your bank and from FBR.

Advance tax on payments abroad by debit, credit or prepaid card fell on 1 July 2026 under the Finance Act 2026: from 5 percent to 0.5 percent for filers, and from 10 percent to 1 percent for non-filers. The rate is set in each budget, so check FBR's withholding tax rate card in the week you pay.

Before you pay:

1Switch on international e-commerce for the card, in your banking app or by calling the bank. Pakistani banks often keep it off until you ask.

2Check the card's per-transaction and monthly limits. The AMC exam fee needs about PKR 5.9 lakh in a single payment.

3Pay with a card in your own name, and download the invoice from your AMC account. You need it for any refund.

4Pay ECFMG's EPIC charges the same way. They are in US dollars, and the same bank fee and advance tax apply.

Where Pakistani candidates sit the AMC exam

Lahore is the only AMC exam centre in Pakistan. Seats are few and go first come, first served, so schedule on Pearson VUE the day your authorisation email arrives. You can move to a later event or another venue free of charge until scheduling closes, 21 days before the event; after that, no changes are accepted.

If Lahore is full for your month, take a later month in Lahore or fly out. No AMC centre operates in the UAE or anywhere else in the Gulf, so Pakistani doctors working in Dubai, Riyadh or Doha need to fly to sit. India's centres need an Indian visa, which Pakistani passport holders rarely get. Colombo is the closest alternative outside Pakistan, followed by Bangkok, Istanbul and Singapore; check the entry rules for a Pakistani passport before you book. Refunds, in PKR

The AMC portfolio fee is refunded in full before assessment, and by half if it has been assessed but no ECFMG status has been processed; after that, nothing comes back. Card refunds arrive in Australian dollars and are converted at that day's rate, and the bank keeps its fees, so a refund is always worth a little less than you paid.

PMDC: what the AMC needs now, and what comes later

The AMC exam doesn't need PMDC registration. The AMC checks your MBBS through ECFMG's EPIC service, which writes to your university, so the slow part from Pakistan is the university's reply. The steps, in order, are in AMC registration from India and Pakistan.

PMDC comes back into the picture after the AMC exam. When you apply for registration in Australia, Ahpra wants a certificate of good standing from PMDC and from any other medical council that has registered you. Keep your PMDC registration current while you prepare, so the certificate is easy to get once you have a job offer.
